Tencent Launches Full Version of Hy4 AI Model
Tencent launched the full version of its Hy4 artificial intelligence model on November 4, 2026, with image-understanding and computer-use capabilities, according to the company’s release. Tencent said the model has been integrated into its WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy products.
For computer use, Tencent described functions covering both graphical interfaces and the command line. The company said training for those functions included work with Blender and CAD software. Its description of Hy4’s visual capabilities includes analysing charts, processing fine details in images and handling mathematical reasoning that involves images.
Access through WorkBuddy and CodeBuddy includes a limited quota of free use for each product during November 4–15, 2026, according to Tencent. The offer applies to both products over that stated period.
Publication of supporting materials remained a planned step in the launch release. Tencent said it expected to make Hy4’s model weights and system cards available in the coming days, describing their release as forthcoming rather than confirming availability on November 4.
The full release follows an earlier Hy4 preview, which Tencent released and made open source on August 28, 2026. In its announcement for that version, the company put the total parameter count at 770 billion, with 49 billion active parameters. Tencent also described the preview’s context window as exceeding one million tokens. Those specifications referred to the August preview.
Tencent’s August announcement listed access to the preview through WorkBuddy, CodeBuddy and other Tencent products. It also described API access through OpenRouter and Tencent Cloud TokenHub.
