iFlytek Releases Spark X2.6 at Beijing Developer Festival
iFlytek released Spark X2.6 in Beijing on October 22, 2026, during its Global 1024 Developer Festival, according to iFlytek Smart Education. The launch covers a model family with separate cloud and on-device models.
For the flagship, iFlytek’s launch specifications describe a mixture-of-experts architecture containing 293 billion parameters in total, with 30 billion active parameters. The company puts its maximum context window at one million tokens. That flagship is distinct from Spark-X2.6-4B, the smaller model designed for deployment on devices.
The company’s description of the device-and-cloud setup pairs the larger cloud model with the separate 4B model. According to iFlytek, a router can allocate work to either the device or the cloud, or distribute it across both.
iFlytek also said the computing resources used to train Spark X2.6 were entirely domestic and that the model delivered improvements in coding and agent capabilities. Those are company statements; they do not, by themselves, independently verify either the training-resource description or the reported capability gains.
The Spark-X2.6 project repository lists October 21, 2026, as the date of the 4B model’s global launch across Hugging Face, ModelScope and Ollama. Its description identifies Spark-X2.6-4B as a compact model for on-device deployment, rather than the 293-billion-parameter flagship presented in the launch specifications.
