Enterprise Singapore Commits Over S$45m to Manufacturing AI

Enterprise Singapore said it has committed more than S$45 million over three years to help small and medium-sized enterprises use AI in advanced manufacturing. Through its Catalytic AI Solutions initiative, the agency plans to support the deployment of enterprise-level systems to address operational problems.

The agency identified development costs, a shortage of AI tools tailored to manufacturing and uncertainty over results as barriers to adoption among SMEs. Its manufacturing commitment was the subject of a media release dated 21 October 2026, listed by the Singapore Government Press Centre.

To support deployment, Enterprise Singapore said the initiative would link systems integrators and AI solution providers with trade associations and chambers. The solutions covered would include those developed by AIMfg, the Sectoral AI Centre of Excellence for Manufacturing.

AIMfg was jointly developed by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research, known as A*STAR, and Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry. According to A*STAR, the centre launched in September 2024 to bring together participants from research, industry and government to develop manufacturing applications for AI.

A*STAR identified quality assurance and the optimisation of operations among the centre’s areas of work. Other uses include predictive maintenance, industrial automation, and the design of products and components.

Enterprise Singapore also said it was developing Catalytic AI Solutions initiatives for logistics and wholesale trade. Those plans were reported without a launch date, and the two sectors were not identified as covered by the funding commitment for advanced manufacturing.
