Skydance Offers Buyouts, Plans Five-Day Office Week

Skydance has begun offering a voluntary, one-time buyout to eligible employees and plans to require office attendance five days each week, according to an employee memo dated October 26, 2026. The buyout offer covers qualifying staff at the combined company formed through Paramount’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery.

The memo came from David Ellison, Skydance’s chairman and CEO, and Ynon Kreiz, its co-CEO. According to the document, employees who qualify would receive terms specific to them and time to make a decision. It set no target for the number of employees taking the offer.

For the office policy, the memo outlined a company-wide change implemented separately by location. Employees would receive advance notice of the start date for their location, but the document supplied no dates for that rollout.

The staffing measures accompany a three-year savings goal exceeding $6 billion, according to reports by the Los Angeles Times and.

TheWrap. That figure represents Skydance’s target for reducing costs following the acquisition, rather than savings it has already recorded.

According to TheWrap, the cost-reduction programme also includes layoffs, though the number was unspecified. The publication reported that Skydance executives had stated that most of the planned savings would come from spending outside labour, including property costs and the consolidation of technology systems used for streaming.

Skydance Corporation announced that Paramount’s purchase of Warner Bros. Discovery was completed on October 6, 2026. The company also announced that the resulting business would operate under the Skydance name.

The Los Angeles Times put the combined company’s debt after the acquisition at more than $80 billion. Reuters separately gave an approximate figure of $80 billion.
