At a glance
- Chinese companies disclosed 94 GWh in energy storage system orders in Q3 2026.
- About 93% of signed orders were for overseas markets.
- Europe and the Middle East accounted for most overseas orders.
Chinese energy storage enterprises reported a combined 94 GWh in energy storage system orders during the third quarter of 2026, including signed, commissioned, and delivered contracts. The majority of these orders were linked to international projects, with a substantial share going to regions outside China.
Of the 74 GWh in signed contracts for energy storage systems, approximately 67.8 GWh, or 93%, were designated for overseas markets. Europe and the Middle East represented the largest destinations for these international orders, reflecting the global reach of Chinese energy storage providers in this period.

- 67.8 GWh of signed orders, or 93%, were for overseas markets.
- Europe received 31.2 GWh and the Middle East 21.3 GWh of signed orders.
- 246.6 GWh in battery cell orders disclosed in Q3 2026.
- Global energy storage battery shipments reached 461.3 GWh in the first half of 2026.
In addition to system orders, Chinese energy storage companies disclosed battery cell orders totaling about 246.6 GWh for Q3 2026. This included a framework agreement between EVE Energy and Fluence for 206 GWh of battery cells, covering deliveries from 2027 to 2031.
During the first half of 2026, global energy storage battery shipments reached approximately 461.3 GWh. Chinese enterprises held all top ten positions in the global shipment rankings for this period, indicating their strong presence in the international market.
